Just catching up with y’all……………Jan, I too, came from a small family……..and, My Mtn Man too. Our problem in tracing the genealogy comes from the fact that our grandparents (on both sides) came through Ellis Island…….and the people there changed or “Americanized” their Polish last names. So, tracing them is next to impossible.

We, too are leaving for home today. First leg through Salt Lake City, and then home, home, on the range!!!!! We had a grand trip, but, oh so glad to go home to our own bed/car/house, etc., etc., etc. :))
Arye, hope your trip was pleasant and your interaction with TSA was bearable. Enjoy the sunshine for the next few months.
Rita, most of my family emigrated from England so they didn’t have that problem. The ones that didn’t kept their surnames pretty much intact (except for one great-grandmother’s family who went from Jorgansen to Johnson). I guess the officials at Ellis Island didn’t think French was all that bad.
