This is so timely… I had to say goodbye to my vessel yesterday after almost 14 years of unconditional love. :(

My sincere condolences, CarolinaGirls and CC Alexander. The days we must say good-bye to our loved ones are the hardest days of all.

Pet love- the best! Thanks Jan for honoring that… and giving usa spot to share our losses. I had to “put down” my Button O’Grey in Auguust and I still hear her breeep in my quiet moments.

My daughter (27yo) is facing the probability of putting down her 13yo kitty if this latest round of antibiotics doesn’t work.

We just put down our 16 yo rat terrier. It was a sad occasion, but we remember the good times and also celebrate a full long life for her. We must remember that most dogs live fewer than5 or 6 years. We have to realize that we gave them back love and tried our best to take of them. If you do not have other pets, the best thing you can do in your pet’s honor is to rescue another and have a love relationship again. It is what your pet would want.

Only pet owners know how hard it is to lose a good friend. They become a unique part of our lives.

Two of our dogs are older. Thought we were going to lose the big guy last fall. Thanks to a good vet and a good vet emergency service, he’s made it to 11, but we don’t know about the future. They are special. BTW: who rescued who?
