I LOVE this strip – the good-natured characters; the good-hearted captain; the battles where nobody gets hurt; the thieving rabbits; Charley, the indomitable gardener; Nate’s failures with diets and the onset of winter; Raymond who speaks both English and Dog; the ever-playful Louie. It’s all so CHARMING! But I am SO tired of these mice (always HAVE been). Where’s that giant cat when we need him? – Usually our amiable cartoonist is open to suggestions but he seems determined to keep these tiny tiresome rodents.

Mice have a long and honored tradition in comix, starting with the godfather of the comix, Mickey. Tom and Jerry, Mickey Rat from underground comix, and others are part of the rich, colorful world of fantasy that are the toons along with flying elephants, singing swords, clothes wearing dogs, and road runners that go meek, meek. Chip has just brought the tradition into modern times, picture Mickey and Minnie texting. Why all the fuss?

Thanks for reminding me. My birds this year came with little packets of gravy (who eats that!) which I only threw in the fridge because I was in a hurry.
I gotta throw those packets out before they explode.

You don’t get much soup out of a mouse though!

Good Evening Crew! That carcass has seen better days. Like when it was still alive, eating grain and other delicacies.
