Good morning, Vagabonds. In 12 days I’ll be travelling to Miami. Although I’ve been putting things into my suitcase, after Thanksgiving I plan to start putting my clothes away.

My 108-page handwritten tree is already in the bag, but I have to keep taking it out everytime a cousin contacts me with more info. Today I had to re-write a page woth corrections, but once it’s scanned I’ll be unable to include more corrections when I email the scanned copy to relatives. (I counted 97 cousins on my mailing list).

Yesterday I finished scotch taping the hundreds of “One Big Happy” cartoons I clipped from the newspapers. I tried to tape them according to subject, such as “Ninja Kitty” (which I thought was so corny), Avis (who I think is hilarious as is James, the trailer kid). Counting both sides of the paper, it amounts to over 100 pages. I did it in 2 days time and I think it’s better than stuffing the clippings into envelopes the way I had before..

Morning, Village.Arye, let me recommend that you enter your genealogical data into your computer. There is a free program called Brother’s Keeper. I’ve been using it for years. If you would like, I’ll give you to link to find it and download it.

Thank you, David. Three people have already given me Family Tree Maker diskettes, but I couldn’t even navigate them to diagram the relationship between characters in the fantasy fiction novel I wrote and that fammily tree is much shorter than my own. But if it’s just a download, I certainly would like to try it.

I recommend it. And it’s certainly easy to use. I have not only done my family, I use it to keep up with the characters in novels, like Jean Auel’s Cave Bear series, or Ann Rice’s Witch stories. I even have Walt Wallet’s and Donald Duck’s families data based!

    Here’s the link to Brother’s Keeper .

I see they’ve updated it. I’m running version 6.4.31 and they have version 6.6. I’ll probably download the update later. At the bottom of the page you can order the registered version if you want to, which does have a price. But I’ve been using their program for about 20 years and never have bought the current version. I guess I should feel guilty for that, but I haven’t yet.

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Picking up on dkram’s thought, let us all try to state something we are thankful for in this coming week. I’ll start. I am thankful for my new home where I can be with my husband all of the time instead of commuting back and forth 200 miles every week.
