    Actually, “shika” means “deer.” (Sometimes the “h” is left out when writing Japanese in the Roman alphabet.)

    According to the article I’d read about this, the scientists who had taken the footage believed that the dolphin had been preying on, and had attempted to catch, the octopus . . . who took umbrage and fastened itself to the dolphin . . . and in a particularly ‘sensitive’ area at that.
