But, enough about Narnia, Middle Earth, Hogwarts, heaven and other imaginary places. The point of the cartoon is that nothing has changed in Retaliban politics in 40 years. Still playing the liberal, abortion, and race cards; still relying on the voters being dumb suckers. I’d say Mr. Pett nailed it.

I pointed out that (1) I’m not voting for Obama, and (2) requested that you go kiss Bush’s cornhole or go back to polishing your gun or whatever you do instead of working on your reading comprehension.Apparently, you declined the offer. If an editorial cartoon shows a public figure receiving a gift from Santa Claus, does that mean only people who believe in Santa Claus may comment on it? Heck, would that cartoon be an indication that the cartoonist believes in Santa Claus? (Does it even mean that the cartoonist believes the subject of his cartoon deserves a gift?)

Y’know, when Ted Kennedy died, Glenn McCoy did two obituary cartoons (Aug. 28 and 29, 2009). The first showed a wreath being placed on the funerary monument labelled “The Camelot Myth”, and in the foreground showed the tiny, neglected grave of Mary Jo Kopechne. The second showed Ted passing through the pearly gates, where his brothers Jack and Bobbie were waiting (football in hand) for him to join them. I wonder which cartoon was chosen to run by more papers.

Oh, and by the way? Laura Bush killed a guy.
