Some towns have an official parking fairy, funded by the downtown business association. It’s been proposed in my town. The idea is someone dresses up as a fairy (or clown) and prances around the downtown area putting coins in meters that are about to expire, and leaves a note on the windshield explaining and soliciting donations. I think it’s a great idea and I think there would be no shortage of volunteers and donations..-Cougar :{)
I’m enrolled in college, my classes are only two days a week so I park at the meters rather than pay the ever-rising rate for a parking pass. I pay close attention to the time and always run back out to deposit more change.
They used to have ‘angels’ do that around Christmas here. You can’t anymore because they’ve put new sensors in and you have to go when your times up or it sends a message to the meter person. No running down and adding more if you’re going to be longer than you expected.

In Philly and NYC, they would arrest Clyde. No joke.

If you get caught, that is.

They’d be dressed as fairies in San Francisco; clowns in D.C.
