4 coffins, must be the 4 American lives lost in Benghazi I disagree; he cares very much about American lives. It’s non-American lives he and other Americans appear not to care very much about.

Fair enough. GWB’s mistakes put me off my food for years. Quick question: did we lose more under this President than the last one? And is the next one more or less likely to fight unecessary wars?

It’s October before a presidential election and conservatives hate Obama worse than Satan. There will be more of this.

Well, today’s FBI report labelled the riots in Benghazi to be spontaneous. Yosemite Sam (President Romney) would have been there for a couple weeks now, guns a-blazing. No need to determine who to shoot or why; he knows everything.

Just like his shoot-from-the-hip response to the Syrian uprising. Guess he didn’t remember we gave weapons and training to our “friends” to help oust the Soviets from Afghanistan. Our ally Osama bin Laden used those against us as well. Could it repeat in Syria?

If Romney doesn’t bankrupt us by making health care unaffordable and sending seniors and ex-Medicaid recipients to the emergency room as the only option (“It’s free”, says the dolt), he’ll do so with hair-trigger reasons to go to war.

There’s a song the Who did years ago called Mingy Stingy, about a guy who had a lot of money. He was afraid someone would take it, so he bought a safe to put the money in and a house to put the safe in and some other security (I don’t remember details). “And his face was very funny/When he counted all his money/ and he found there wasn’t any anymore.”

If we neglect everything but defense, there won’t be anything worth defending.

Having “called out” some liberal artists recently, I feel comfy saying that this cartoon not only makes the president look callous and shallow(which the conservatives seem to be loving), it also trivializes the deaths of four good men. IF all the funds allocated for securing embassies/consulates had been released and used in a timely manner, perhaps the conservatives would not have this foil with which to poke Obama. Had Obama used words in a better way, perhaps the conservatives would be focusing on some other issue or even deciding it was time for their candidate to be more forthcoming with tax and policy info.To suggest ANY president, Obama, Bush, or ANY president would casually brush away the deaths of Americans as has been depicted here is insulting to the Office of the Presidency and to us who read it.Respectfully,C.

SIX THOUSAND flag draped caskets were BUSH and CHENEY’s fault, for a lie, and they didn’t have the decency to show up when they came home! Because they LIED!

Obama DID show up to greet these citizens on their return. He hasn’t called for killing tens of thousands of people to “get even” for his own errors.

He DID tell the truth about terrorism; and in international affairs where maybe our staffs aren’t what they appear in public, NOT telling everyone what’s going in is the RIGHT thing to do.

Lester, while too disgusting with this one for words, needs to be called out as the liar, fink; and words don’t fail me, but I can’t use them in this forum.

The initial CIA reports labeled the attacks as “spontaneous”. Susan Rice and other administration officials were just repeating what the intelligence was at the moment. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/benghazi-attack-becomes-political-ammunition/2012/10/19/e1ad82ae-1a2d-11e2-bd10-5ff056538b7c_story.html?hpid=z2Romney’s attempt to make political hay out of these deaths is despicable. Lester’s attempt to portray the President as uncaring is beyond the realm of stupid.Obama’s exact words in his Rose Garden speech about those responsible for those four deaths:“We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

Bush wouldn’t even let photos of the coffins coming back to be taken. Like everything Republicant, you know there is something fishy about their policies. They don’t work for us , they work for the likes of the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, and other billionaires. “Behind every fortune is a crime”.

Maybe mr. lester can draw a cartoon showing us shrubster and cheney, they sent over 6,000 Americans to their deaths. How well are they eating? Why aren’t shrubster and cheney in court defending themselves?

Not an embassy, but thank you for playing anyway! On scene reporting yielded the following information, from the NYT:To Libyans who witnessed the assault and know the attackers, there is little doubt what occurred: a well-known group of local Islamist militants struck the United States Mission without any warning or protest, and they did it in retaliation for the video. That is what the fighters said at the time, speaking emotionally of their anger at the video without mentioning Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden or the terrorist strikes of 11 years earlier. And it is an explanation that tracks with their history as members of a local militant group determined to protect Libya from Western influence. . . .The fighters said at the time that they were moved to act because of the video, which had first gained attention across the region after a protest in Egypt that day. The assailants approvingly recalled a 2006 assault by local Islamists that had destroyed an Italian diplomatic mission in Benghazi over a perceived insult to the prophet. In June the group staged a similar attack against the Tunisian Consulate over a different film, according to the Congressional testimony of the American security chief at the time, Eric A. Nordstrom.http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/16/world/africa/election-year-stakes-overshadow-nuances-of-benghazi-investigation.html

In short, a cloudier picture than the wingnuts tell us it is. Seems like the Obama administration has not been so far off the mark on this all along.

    . . .

A cheap and reprehensible play by the Romney team for political points, rendering his disaster at the end of the second debate all the more delightful.Just one more reason I’m not voting for Mitt. . .

“As far as spending our own money, Americans are more generous as a group than probably any other country in the world.”Nooo, the Scandanavians are a whole lot better than most of us, per capita.sighKnow what, you win; you’re the most generous people on earth; the whole world are simply unappreciative of your ample personal & state generosity. It’s sooo much, it overwhelms them to the point of incomprehensibility. However, getting back to the cartoon: I said, in not so many words : Obama does care about American lives; it’s just American lives he cares about. Does that work for you?grumbledotheyknowthedifferencebetweengenorisitycallousnessprideorarrogancenotheydonotaboutasmuchaspunctuation

^Given where our “interventions” have occurred since Obama took office, and the number of people who have NOT been killed, or who WE have NOT killed, I would take exception. I’d say that despite the drone attacks, Obama DOES care about other than American lives. HIs broad world experiences in HIS life, have left him with first hand knowledge of “other guys” lives, and how they live, and not just in Paris, rubbing elbows with the “conservative elites”.

Benghazi was, again, a dangerous assignment, and the Libyans weren’t happy about the choices the Ambassador, and others, made in going to that dangerous city. They DID like him, and respected him, and Libyans HAVE demonstrated their anger over his death. Actually, it seems the Libyans have been more in touch with the real situation, and shown more respect, than Americans out to politicize the situation, for a campaign statement.
