It wouldn’t bother me a bit if they did away with DST.

The nights are getting LONGER! Beautiful work!

I don’t like sun to set before 8 pm! I’m not too fond of dark when I get up, either!

And riddle me this: Why do we spend fewer than 5 months on “Standard Time”?

It doesn’t help the economy anymore…we should just pick one and stick with it. This changing just messes up everyone’s internal clock!

i’m a midnight worker i hate the daylight and sleep well in the daytime!

I for one appreciate the change. In the fall my son doesn’t have to wait for the bus in the dark. The spring is more psychological. Having the sun setting that much later perks my up that winter is almost over.

True Story: Working in a prison, a Lieutenant…who should know…(??) posted a notice by the time clock…DST ends this Saturday night….be sure to set your clocks back one hour…anyone who fails to do this and is LATE to work will face disciplinary action…..and we wonder……….

All the original reasons for it are gone.

Another goverment intrusion into our circadian rythyms!!!

I’m retired so it dosen’t make a bit of difference when I set my clocks. I will probably do it after I get up. Standard time does screw up my afternoon golf schedule though.

Where I live, the sun comes up at about 8:45 in the morning, so I’m just starting to see the sunrise when I get to work. When I leave at 5, the sun is already setting. For the whole 6 months of winter around here, I sometimes go weeks at a time without seeing more than 5 minutes of daylight per day. It’s sad, but you do what you have to, lol. I certainly wouldn’t mind one bit if they did away with DST, it’s a complete drag to get less than 8 hours of daylight a day at times!

Just another case of governments trying to legislate Nature – mostly for the convenience of commerce. And I think we’ve all seen it doesn’t much work. Thanks for the reminder JJ!

BTW thanks I had no idea tonight was the night to mess with the. Clocks. Right now the danger around here is getting on a gas line. Two fist fights and two others arrested for carrying guns. What a doc holiday country we are turning in to.

During WWII we were on “War Time” (DST) for four years. I don’t know why they changed it back!

That’s one way to look at it. Another is that our Congress made our return to standard time more “advanced”.

You mean congress did something? Man we sure take care of our employees there don’t we?

Except in Arizona. We are civilized here and don’t do all of that silly time switching stuff and screwing with the body’s circadian rhythm. Of course we have to remember whether we are adjusting two or three hours to Eastern time when checking what is going on elsewhere.

DST doesn’t change how many hours of sunlight in a winter day, just what time those hours are.
