Got anything against Romney that doesn’t stem from religious bigotry?

“A much better alternative to O’s policies.”You have nothing good to say about Romney, only bad things to say about Obama. Romney could publicly state his policies will be to personally shoot puppies and grandparents in the head and you’d still say it’s better than Obama’s policies.

If you think Mr. Romney is a good businessman, read this week’s Newsweek. It has an article about his practices at Bain, written by David Stockman, who, as you may remember, was Ronald Reagan’s budget director. (So much for liberal bias.)

Thank you.[]I’m getting really, really tired of seeing Obama and his supporters snipe at Romney just on the basis of his religion. It’s like they know that they’re toast unless they can whip up religious bigotry.

While most inferences to LDS and Romney have been with a sense of humor, it’s mostly from the evangelical right that the “nastiness” has come in, saying LDS isn’t “Christian”, which is interesting given the full name of the faith.

But: the only TRUE religious bigotry comes from those who refuse to accept Article Six of our Constitution. The Second Amendment says that in the United States of America, “keep it to yourself” (and don’t inflict your religious beliefs on others) is the rule of the ultimate source of law, the Constitution.

Let’s face it, “underwear” is just as funny at times as the Pope’s headgear, which is also the target of cartoonists, so “lighten up” a little if it’s not malicious, or a violation of the Constitution being addressed.

We have a section in the file drawer with 10 folders. Each folder is one year of taxes in case of an audit by the IRS. It has been reported our elected officials in DC receive returns on their portfolios far exceeding the average return for the rest of us.It is easy for politicians to profit off of inside information on how upcoming legislation will effect a given company’s stock value. For this reason alone, ALL politicians seeking ANY elected post, should have their taxes scrutinized to the limit of the law. Whether it is a judgeship, or a president, we should be assured that those who would govern us are not doing so for profit.Respectfully,C.

I actually did a fair amount of that back when it was first an issue.

Thing is, Mormons have been in Washington since the early 1900s when Sen. Reed Smoot was first allowed to take his seat (look up the farce that was the Smoot Hearings; the gov’t couldn’t fathom a Mormon being fairly elected to office, and so spent three years trying to stone-wall him). []There are also countless Mormons working for local and state governments across the nation, plus the federal government itself.[]In other words, you’re about 100 years late with your question.

I thought maybe JFK would already be able to answer your question since he was Catholic, but he opted out of the system – or beat the problem. He donated his Prez salary to charities.
