BTW: overlooked is the fact that this “stunt”, just like Kittenger’s years ago, has the very REAL purpose of designing systems so that our astronauts can, when things look bad, SURVIVE a “bad experience and moment of crisis”.
Don’t know about the “town hall” format, but suspect after two more events, and a few more weeks of inventing a new campaign strategy every 12 hours, while never actually revealing a single fact, or truth, of their plans, MItt and Ryan will be the ones without parachutes.
I agree with Ketira and Lynne on this one….comment on this amazing feat which advances science and technology, OR tease Obama for letting his debate performance hurt his poll numbers, but combining them cheapens the accomplishment and has no effect on what has become a tired and, with two more debates pending, unimportant issue.Respectfully,C.
Thank you for that really interesting addition to the discussion!
I have to wonder about one thing, though – given the fact that regardless of his starting velocity of 0, Baumgartner did hit terminal velocity. Would having a nonzero starting velocity actually make that much difference?

Eesh, Britt – can’t you just concentrate on one or the other? Putting them together like this isn’t nice at all.
