But it appears the stupid gene is dominant in every generation. And here’s another genetic flash; their dad peed standing up and Ma didn’t/doesn’t!Where’s Mendel when you need him?

Strange, both my parents have short hair and so did I.But about 1966-67 it started growing and growing til it was half down my back.Could have been some sort of British Beatle infestation.

Actually people do have a maximum length that is genetic (hair strength/thickness/speed of growth) I’ve met East Indian women whose braided hair was past their ass (which means it probably touched the floor unbraided) whereas I cannot grow my hair past the bottom of my shoulder blades, and even then it looks ragged.

They never wear it down, so it doesn’t matter.

I too have long hair, It would have to be cut twice a month if it were short, and its easy to take care of. However I’m waaaay past the age for long hair. Like Dazz I march to my own music. In the interest of science tho, I must ask if ALL their hair is long? Too much info?

My hair is as long as it gets in this photo from last July (and rather thin). It was reddish blond as a child and “dishwater” blond (nondescript) as an adult, so I was glad to let it go grey so I don’t have to bother coloring. I consider myself lucky, tho as I NEVER had hair on arms or legs (TMI< I know- use your BB).

What is BB? And what is the age when long hair is no longer desirable?I hope you’re kidding.

I agree that some people are too stupid to vote and have links on my FB page to prove it. Those who think Obama is a Mormon, and other similar things (Joy and Verl who think their father did not have short hair by choice).

    Hey … I’m baaack…didja miss me?

    oh.

    Well, see, I wasn’t here, so I thought maybe….oh….

LOL…anyway, my hair is almost waist length, very thick, kinda wavy…and a dark reddish brown…(as far as anyone can see anyway….. cough)Am I too old for that?Of course.Do I care?Of course not! It’s MINE.I know at some point I’ll look silly, and if I can figure out when that is, I might get it cut….

but you see, I inherited long hair from some past generation(not from my parents; theirs was short)and it just keeps getting longer!

And it doesn’t get grey…. it gets red.Amazing.

That is great Susan! And reddish you may have even been spared the waxing stuff too. I find my ends get knotted up at even my current length. My favorite scissors are still in Chicago but I will ship stuff I want here back before my return. I sometimes just snip off some knots at my ends and I keep the wave in the front a little shorter than the rest, but my photo is accurate (as it seems your avatar is as well). Best wishes!

And as I said, I’m happy because this is just about the color I did back when I bothered with that. He uses Just for Men and it may help his business (folks don’t want someone doing service on their HVAC by someone who looks too old to do it). Most customers have used his company for years tho’ -just not every year so I don’t care that it is dark (always loved to see men with thick silver hair tho and eventually he’ll retire).
