When the republicans started blocking Obama in his first year of office, poor guy didn’t even get that 100 day grace period, Dwayne “The Rock” was on SNL and did a skit where the republicans were stonewalling Obama in the Oval Office and the actor portraying Obama said, Obama…ANGRY" a quick cut away as Obama becomes Hulkobama. Yeah.Release the beast Obama. This country needs an angry president right now. You have nothing to lose but an election and they’re trying to steal that. Those looking for websites to accuse of me of lying just need to look up phrases like Voter Fraud, False Registration drives, and more on Google. Try some that aren’t from your sites of choice. Expand your horizons.with apologies to Tony Stark I am,Respectfully,C.

As I asked you a moment ago in the Ramirez cartoon when you asked the same thing…How so?I have wished for three years Obama would go toe to toe against those blocking his policies. He didn’t. As I read this toon, I remembered that skit from SNL and laughed. So, what part of this post, and/or the one by Ramirez, costs me the courtesy of respect?Respectfully,C.

Is there a way to tell when someone replies on one of these toons? I always have to go back and look and it only saves 10 of my own comments. The GM rescue was part of the last legislation of the Bush administration to rescue businesses. It was started by Bush and pushed through by Obama. It may have been one of the last truly bipartisan votes. It’s getting late so I’m not fact checking myself on this, but i’m confident. In 2009 and 2010 when Dems led in both houses with Obama as executive, the Republican minority were able to successfully block bills agreed upon by the House and Senate by threatening a record number of filibusters. The link below shows how successful they were. Olympia Snow was vilified for voting with the Dems while Al Franken and his republican rival fought in the courts over the 60th seat. Tho Franken ultimately won, it was too late to use that politcal capital. This is only one of many ways legislation was slowed or halted. I also recall after that legendary Obama/Boehner debt ceiling negotiation. Boehner said as he got into the elevator, “I got 98% of what I wanted”. Obama got less than he wanted, but the debt ceiling did get raised. Here’s that link…. http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/reference/cloture_motions/clotureCounts.htmThere’s not always time to give evidence and easy to slip into generalities. The republicans are not THE problem and if I recall, the rule making it so a 60% majority was needed to override a filibuster was a democratic installation, I could be wrong. However, feel free to call me out anytime. H. Beam Piper had a great line in his book Space Viking, I paraphrase it here…“Don’t tell the man he’s stupid, ask him what he means.” then the speaker looks real hard into our hero’s eyes and says…“And what DO you mean, sir?”I appreciate the tone we’ve set for one another. Daniel Webster is said to have quoted Voltaire when saying to a fellow legislator, I disagree with your words sir, but I will defend to the death the right to use them." Just try to make them words worth dying for, ..k?Respectfully,C.

Regarding the board- Of course I can complain, doesn’t mean I can expect anything to change. ;)Regarding “Angry Black Man”, I did a brief search and found nothing yet, it seems like I read it as an element in a speech more than in a movie, but the way the stereotype has endured, it was probably a piece of fiction, let me know if you find out.I like the tone you set for the President in the third part of your comment and agree. When constituents get angry, they type on comment lines, send letters/emails, or take it out on something somebody in their vicinity. When Presidents get angry, the effects can be global.Enjoyed your thoughts.C.

About Obama getting angry: I neverunderstood where that cultural meme of“Angry Black Man” came from. History? Ora movie?-In the sixties, civil rights for blacks became a primary issue, voting, schools, commercial businesses, Jim Crow laws including segregated drinking fountains and restrooms — white ladies/colored women. -There were a lot of angry black individuals and organizations, including SNCC, freedom riders, Black Panthers, Black Muslims, and spokesmen like Martin Luther King Jr. Malcom X, Harry Edwards, Dick Gregory, Jim Brown to name a few.-

    Not THAT long ago.
