If EVER a editorial cartoonist showed his allegiance to party line dogma in the face of clear and convincing evidence to the contrary (not to mention overwhelming public opinion), THIS is it…
LOL – just saw today’s Varvel right after this one… perhaps it seems Clint’s speech was more spot on with fact than the rambling remarks of an old man.
I don’t understand why Obama didn’t bring up the fact that Romney’s plan would be impossible without one of his top secret loopholes being the mortgage interest deduction..Obama acted like he didn’t want to be there.
Such spinning from poor Mikey. Why can’t he just admit that Obama didn’t even show up, unless this backhanded comic sort of admits this. B.O. expected Jim Lehrer to give him a hand, he was ALL ON HIS OWN last night, and he was totally unprepared. He was so desperate and flailing, it was even a little uncomfortable watching him looking so pathetic.
I stopped watching the first time Lehrer lost control when Mittens had a hizzy fit because Obama got to start and Mitt didn’t get enough turns. Sounded like a kindergartener complaining – it’s my turn, it’s my turn. He got more turns than me! And Lehrer let him get away with it when they had already gone well over the allotted time on the subject and it was time to move on to the next issue. What a baby!
Wow…..talk about some sour grapes! I guess we know who you are rooting for Lukovich. Your ‘prez’ didn’t bring his ‘A’ game. He’s been getting a pass from the liberal media (look in the mirror, you are one of them) and didn’t think someone would call him on his crap. Romney called him on his crap. I love it when a bully gets whats coming to him.
Having seen so much video of Mitt’s positions through his political career, this is a very appropriate cartoon. Obama didn’t even need to be on the stage, just have Romney debate with his past comments and explain how he ‘evolved’ into the positions he’s held since the primaries. It is very possible that once he’s elected, he’ll be that compassionate moderate republican he was in Mass. That would REALLY upset the folks who are disgusted with "dum dems’, and ‘stupid libs’. But it would make us dems and libs breathe a little easier, if Mitt wins, for him to shake the etch a sketch and be a moderate again. it could happen. C.

So who was that last night and what did he do with Mitt Romney?

I thought Romney did very well. Give credit where it’s due.

Jim Lehrer came across as fawning and as if he had no control. Mitt ran rings around Lehrer. Obama was too polite to do the same.

My tax plan is… (furiously shakes the etch-a-sketch) … right here!

Luckovich has it right, and watching Mitt being “presidential”, made me think of one character in particular: Eric Cartman.

Mitt fact? facts include figures, or else it’s hot air.

Mitt is no longer a “flip flopper”. A top can’t keep up with his spin. Iran has made a large offer for the centrifuge he’s now inside.

Talking points over and over and bad moderating. Romney stuck to his script and in my mind looked better. Still, I disagree with his policies.

You can’t see it but there’s another microphone pointed at Romney’s other orifice. That’s where Mitt is blowing smoke.
