A tarantula hawk wasp hunts and incapacitates tarantulas many times larger than itself and then drags them long distances to its lair! Jason Blackburn of Memphis, Tenn., USA-discovered 20 buried military tombstones, all dating back to the 1970s, while digging in his yard in May 2012! A third of the world's amphibians are at risk of extinction due to the spread of chytrid fungus!

No bodies, it was only 13, though. They had been replaced by newer headstones at the nearby cemetery when another relative died. The previous owner worked at the cemetery and took the obsolete stones home and buried them.

I was once camping in the desert and saw a wasp attacking a tarantula. It finally managed to paralyze the spider and I then watched as it dragged it over the sand and took it under a large rock. That was quite the show for the evening.

As I recall, it was in South Carolina that someone dug up a tombstone dating back to the 1500s! Research revealed that a canal once ran though there, and the probable source was discarded ballast from a ship from England.
