“Then,” the word “irresponsible” was a polite term for predatory lending, usury or downright fraud perpetrated on unsuspecting borrowers.
“Now,” the word “irresponsible” is a polite term for “refusing to make loans to small businesses and individuals with good credit history.”
Perhaps the problem is the generality of the term “irresponsible.”
