I appreciate what you’re saying @colourbird, but don’t worry. The Strip isn’t becoming ‘Americanised’. It’s reflecting contemporary societal discourse in Australia. It always has.If he spoke like Australians spoke in the 20’s nobody would understand a word he was saying.

That’s okay – Ginger would have a lot of other comic strip characters for company. They’ve all been on that island at some time.

Another Americanised strip! There are some places here in Australia we can’t get any mobile reception!

You know there are other places in Australia than Sydney, right?I’ve lived in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne. I’ve heard it used in all three cities.
