Unlike Chuck (and Morris), I didn’t stay in the town in which I grew up. My brother did. It’s amazing the relationships that long-term exposure can generate.
Every place has to have a village idiot. At least they didn’t have to rent one like they did in MY Adirondack town. We loved him, took care of him and eventuallly gave him a decent burial.
Ah, you mistake my intent. My local government is already chock-full of them, mostly through nepotism and cronyism. I wanted to start exporting the excess.
