During my junior Year of High School, the only Item on my Birthday wish list was a copy of Duran Duran’s upcoming musical Offering. I was relentless in my Subtle Hinting (Ok OK! Maniacal Hounding! you Happy!?) on the Subject. My Mother was a part time substitute in our Local School District at the time and overheard two young peers of mine discussing just that but neither of those worthy gentlemen could correctly call to mind the Title of this forthcoming Opus. According to my long suffering Mum when she came up behind them, leaned in and said “Boys, it’s called Seven and the Ragged Tiger now let’s get back to the Lesson..” the stunned, reverential awe Pasquale is evincing in Panel 4 does happen in Real Life. And my Mother was insufferably pleased with herself for Several Days afterward as Well! BTW, I STILL have that Album too….Thanks Mom.

My Beloved was in the living room listening to Three Days Grace; when Oldest Son’s friend came in and went to the basement where Son was listening to ’80s classics, the friend said, “Why does your mom listen to cooler music than you do?”

Never underestimate your parents OR your grandparents, folks, ‘cause they’ll surprise you with their knowledge.

Nobody in my family reads comic books except for myself, but my maternal grandma is totally into literature.

As a grandma myself, I watched SpongeBob Squarepants so that I had something to relate to with my grand-daughter who are the time was seven… she thought it was great that I knew Sponge Bob and could talk about different episodes.. lol… Love my grand kids

Then there was the day that me and all three kids were singing along in the car … to Stacy’s mom. Or the day the eldest (28) caught me singing along to something about Casual Sex … LOL. In her words, it was one thing to sing along to older songs like anything by Aerosmith, but there was something hysterically wrong with my knowing the words to “their” songs. (And who introduced them to Evanescence?) LOL.

You’d be surprised what grandmas know!
