Let me guess: this was back when “Lord of the Rings” first aired.

That trilogy was such a yawnfest.

Finally a good movie, rather than the crap of the last 12 months.

Grew up on the Hobbit, have first editions of the Trilogy.

There are a lot of dwarves to choose from this time. Nori, Dori, Ori, etc.

I was thinking that he was going as Gandalf for some reason connected to the end of the world. I mean that’s a couple of days before “the big one”.

Wow, I did not expect such a time-fixed strip to still be so relevant years later – and Bill probably didn’t either!

Just one comment: don’t judge a book by its movie. Be it Clancy or Tolkien, Hollywood likes to “improve” the original author’s work.

I still haven’t figured out how they are going to split “The Hobbit” into 3 separate movies. A LOT of padding, I guess.

Yegads, has it really been 11 years since the release of FOTR?

I love this Jason kid. :-) Sounds like he actually read the book.

I love it, also – in fact, I ended up buying the Blu-ray extended version with each of the three movies taking two discs. It is worth every cent it cost me, in my opinion.

This is my friend J and me! We’re going as elves! I’m Legolas (yes- a girl as Legolas, but I have the perfect hair and body shape/size for him) and J is going as Galadriel. We’re so pumped and have been planning this since summer!! We have a LOTR marathon once a year with a guy friend of ours. LOTR nerds unite! :D
