They made it! They made it! Walt and Skeezix – walking in the woods – again! Truly beautiful!

I don’t comment on this strip often, but I am glad to see the annual walk in the woods. I think Scancarelli skipped it last year. Or am I wrong?

    A very colorful comic strip.

Uncle Walt looks especially frail in this strip. The way Skeezix is holding on to his elbow is a nice touch.

They didn’t take the walk last year. Yes, in the past there have been great conversations, but I am glad just to have them back in the tradition. You have to wonder how many more walks Walt has left.

They used to have three times the space! Maybe when there are no newspaper formats to worry about, comic strip artists can have all the space they want.

Nobody celebrates the seasons better than Gasoline Alley. (Holidays too.) Really enjoy these, thanks.

I guess that is a compliment. I have been reading uClick/GoComics for at least 10 years, but I rarely ever comment anymore. The autumn walk was good enough to get a remark.

GA is one of the strips that has historically aged in real time, but I wonder if Jim is slowing the clock or has even decided to freeeze it. Skeezix is getting up in years too (aren’t we all?). Rufus and Joel do not seem to change and Clovia is a senior citizen but still a hottie. I don’t recall anyone leaving since Phyllis and that’s been quite a few years now.

I have completely quit the daily strip, but I come back on Sundays in the hopes of finding one like this. I am so glad to see the annual walk. Walt is the only “living” WWI veteran, and the only American male left who was born in the 1800s. What a good Sunday this turned out to be!

A 91-year-old man and his 114-year-old uncle are out walking alone in the woods. What could possibly go wrong?

Well … maybe not the Civil War, but the last living WWI vet died earlier this year, and Walt himself would be no worse than the second oldest living man in the world.
