President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai: Permit me to introduce the all-new, visionary, innovative, upwardly mobile and incorruptible Karzai cabinet! Punk: Can we take them off our taxes as dependents?
You know, I have to agree with Jim McGovern, Obama wants to spend 1.3 bil on this country, fostering jobs, while defending its corrupt govt., when we should be focusing on insurgents holed up on the border of Pakistan. And there is no way of effectively training a largely illiterate Afghan population and expecting a withdrawal timetable of 2011. It looks good on paper but it’s not feasible in application. It would be nice if the Congress had further deliberation before sending in that impending 16,000, particularly since Karzai’s government is doing little to correct itself. No wonder Pres. O.’s approval rating is 47%.
I think this is an oversimplified view of the situation in Afghanistan. Everyone here is mocking the Karzai government for corruption. How about the charge of throwing the first stone-we have corruption here that rivals Afghanistan’s, and we are still debating, even before the Supreme Court now, what “honest address” means. This cartoon seems to me to frame the world in our terms, which means we are missing the point, and thus wasting our young and our tax dollars in misguided efforts to fix the world, which really means just get even.
Incorruptible is rich, but has anyone taken a look lately at who, for example, is Secretary of the US Treasury or director of the White House National Economic Council ? Those Afghanis sure know how to choose their role models !…

Hey Scott,
Losing faith in the constitution proves how little you honored it in the first place.
Jesus had simple words for people who call others names. ref. Sermon on the Mount [Matt. 5-7].
Still love ya!
