    My work did that, not literally but prohibited talking to your neighbor even if it is work related. They provided us with a IM tool, this way they can track everything we type back and forth and monitor all dissent.

    Place i worked at did too, but wasn’t ver discrete about it, posting it on a board in the hall where customers could read it, too—the one prohibiting “airmail” msgs via paper airplane got a LOT of comments…
