Actually, it’s the manufacturer who is not supposed to remove the tag.

The cop must have it in for poor ol’ Dave.

Why do people think it is a problem for the owner to remove the tag? Haven’t they ever READ the bleeep things?

Those dream police are on the ball! That IS a cheap trick!

I had a friend that made a jacket out of old tags that weren’t supposed to be removed. He is still diddy-boppin around.

    Ya know?

randayn, if the manufacturer put the tag there to begin with, why would they remove it?

Guys, it’s a comic. It was also a federal crime, so that should be the FBI, right? The wording on the tags was changed some years ago - it originally just said it was a crime to remove the tag - didn’t spell out who, which is why there were so many old jokes about it. Finally, it was re-worded to clear that up. The tag was not supposed to be removed before the consumer purchase, so the customer knew what was in the mattress.

“Warning, there is a policeman outside your window waiting for the moment you rip off this tag.”
