Meet the Clear Blue Water Characters
The Torres Family
Eve Merriwether-Torres
The biracial, hopelessly liberal matriarch of the Torres clan. She's a neurotic housewife and a frustrated writer/artist all rolled into one. A dreamer, she's positive that her big break is just around the corner. Unfortunately, she has yet to reach the corner.

Manny Torres
An irascible realist, he's been Eve's better half for over a decade. Manny's Cuban, a recovering liberal, and perpetually mired in a premature mid-life crisis. His recent career shift from city planner to his dream job as a National Park ranger has drastically lowered their income, much to Eve's chagrin.
Ivy, Owen and Seth
At 9, Ivy is the typical bossy oldest child. She's a sassy overachiever, and a master manipulator. Owen is 6, bright, spazzy, sweet and tragically gullible ... easy prey for Ivy. Three-year-old Seth is quiet, watchful, smart and autistic. Though he appears to be in his own little world, he misses nothing. Through intensive therapy, he's just learning to talk, though he's got a long road ahead of him.

Iris and Maizy
Fraternal toddler twins, these high-energy girls are into everything! Iris, the elder, is fiery, affectionate, impulsive and a natural leader. Maizy, the younger, is sunny, friendly, even-tempered and easily led. Yin and yang, they are opposites, yet they complement each other.

The Extended Family
Grambo
Eve's beloved mom, affectionately known as "Grambo". Growing up as a bi-racial child in the segregated, racist '40s and '50s has left her independent, resourceful, emotional and deeply protective of her family. She has a caustic wit and she will not tolerate fools.

Sophie Rhodes
A mess of contradictions, Sophie's an ambitious television journalist with a ticking biological clock. Narcissistic and conceited, she and Eve have been best friends since college. Lately, due to their vastly different lives and values, they have begun drifting apart. Eve will soon have to decide if their friendship is worth salvaging.
Hannah Merriwether
Eve's identical twin sister (younger by 6 minutes!), she is, as she loves to point out, both thinner and more successful than Eve. A single mom to teenager Lena, Hannah longs to marry Joe, her commitment-phobic boyfriend. She secretly envies Eve her stable family life.

Superheroes
Fluff Boy/Isaac
Fluff Boy's job is to comment on celebrities and pop culture. However, he was hired as the lone black character, and his contract states that he must be seen once a week, regardless of storyline. Because of the frequency of his appearances, Isaac's become like a member of the Torres family, and often provides the voice of reason. He's smart, funny and gay, and is slowly replacing Sophie as Eve's closest friend.
E.O. Man
Easily Offended Man's mission is to force the concerns of the overly sensitive onto everybody else. He worships the Petty code and takes himself very seriously. He often travels with his nemesis, Right Wing.
Right Wing
A religious conservative, he loves Jesus, the flag and his mama, in that order. He practices compassionate conservatism, which means he is deeply moved by the plight of the rich. He enjoys irritating E.O. Man.
The S.U.R.D.
Ultra-covert and deep undercover, the Sweep it Under the Rug Duo barge in whenever a subject is broached that they deem taboo. To this frightening pair, there is no such thing as free speech, and they will use any means necessary to shut you up.
Zealot
Staunchly opinionated and melodramatic, this superhero loves to help pople win arguments. An opportunistic mercenary, he'll argue any side of any issue and push any and all agendas down your throat. With pleasure.
Sheep
Sheep speaks for the easily swayed -- the followers, the drones -- otherwise known as, "Average America." Neither well-read nor all that bright, he is, nonetheless, happy with his lot in life. If he bothers to vote at all, he makes up his mind in the voting booth, then puts his blinkers back on for the next four years. He's both scary and powerful, and his legions are growing daily.
