The phrase "clear blue water," explains author Karen Montague-Reyes, comes from the world of politics. It describes the ideological divide between two political parties. In the Torres house, clear blue water is the gulf of personal experience that Eve and Manny cross each day to make their lives work. Male and female, liberal and conservative, biracial and Hispanic, they approach everyday life from opposite shores and find common ground in their devotion to each other and their determination to raise their children well.

unfortunately, this is how many girls Ivy’s age feel..if they don’t have a boyfriend, they are destined for a life of loneliness. Unfortunately, many of the girls with boyfriends now will probably be sexually active sooner, and have babies before they are old enough to drive. I am twice her age, and still have been on a date yet, but I know I still have lots of time! Cheer up Ivy!! Some day your prince will come!!

Good for you hcrobin85! Glad to hear you’re not in a hurry, I still feel I dated too young (16) because that’s what all my friends did - wish I would’ve waited. I’m 34 now.

Dated or had sex?
Nothing wrong with dating at 16 if it is just that.
My daughter is 18 and is yet to date. She is popular and pretty, but only has friends. She says she won’t settle, and is too busy with her education, travelling, etc.
Each to their own I assume.
