And we’re going to ‘negotiate’ with these people?

“And we’re going to ‘negotiate’ with these people?”

Why not? We were going to give them weapons and support when they were in Syria.

Fundamentalists of all stripes tend to be crazy. Arm them and they become insufferable.

Allow them to get unlimited funding, and it gets way worse. But Saudi Arabia and Yemen are our “allies”, right?

I saw the video before youtube removed it. It is disgusting and horrific. I was horrified when they killed the Muslim sect in the mountains, and I am horrified now. They are savage zealots, and they should be tried for war crimes. I am so sorry for their victims, and I can only pray the world becomes a less violent place.

“We will show them the love of Jesus if we have to kill every last one of them.”

Yes, ISIS is a brutal, disgusting movement that needs to be stopped. The problem is that for a certain subset of commenters here, the first course of action is “send a bunch of other people there to fight and die”. And they never seem to think about Step Two….

I’m still waiting for the liberal/feminist outrage over the ISIS “War on Women”.

    @Northern Redman

I’ll look past the intentional antagonism in your statement, and proceed to….

Here you go: I am officially outraged over ISIS; their war on people who practice other religions, their war on the West, and their war on women. These wars are directly based on interpretation of their holy book. The book and its interpretation are paternalistic, inflexible, and absolutely convinced of invincibility. These are traits that are shared with Western religions, which is very apparent if you are honest. Fortunately, those who follow western religions don’t take their interpretations nearly as far, but we do buy into the same tenets.

If Hobby Lobby (the person? the corporation? I can’t tell a difference….) really cared about abortion, they would not be purchasing almost 100% of their product from a country that forces abortion on its women. If they really believed that Plan B causes abortion, and they really cared, they wouldn’t invest their 401(k) money into the company which markets Plan B. No, it’s all about showing women who wears the pants in the corporation; they need to know their place. Men have a much better idea of what women want and need; no need to ask them.

But, back to the original question, I am sure I am not the only alleged liberal who is against most of what ISIS stands for. Now we can all retire to our glass houses…..

Aren’t these the people McCain wanted to arm when they were in Syria?

    Please don’t.

There were/are lots of groups in Syria fighting the government. If this is one of the ones he wanted to arm, then this is another one of his screw ups.
    .
When did I ever give you the impression that I’m a fan of McCain? While as a fellow Vietnam Vet, I respect the man’s past service and what he endured, I still think he is currently an old fool who should have retired.

A Brit kills an American because he’s still stinging from 1776 and 1812 (not to mention 1947, so I won’t mention it) .

Before, the Brits killed Americans by selling them British cars and vacations. Now, some of them are resorting to methods more appropriate to ‘76 and ’12, and why shouldn’t they?

Their reasoning? US bombs them in Iraq, they murder a US citizen in their custody. And will do it again.
