Because he is a democrat, not republican. EVERYONE knows if this was Bush he would have been raked over the coals. I mean the arrogance they had when they had FAKE papers on Bush was like we are about Obama and his “birth certificate”. The difference, Bush PROVED the papers fake and when we try we are being anti-American’s, etc.

  10. LLeRay

    LLeRayGenius_badge said, 3 months ago

Some of the papers used against Bush were fake, but they were created by the REPUBLICANS and planted to discredit some in the media and distract from the fact that the allegations were TRUE.

The charges against Obama have been demonstrably shown false many times, but the issue isn’t really his citizenship; the issue is what it means to be an American. The yahoos that keep this issue alive don’t really see non-whites as belonging in the USA. They also have problems with any authority, but that is secondary.

You are also twisting this in to racism? Nice!
We white republicans must be the ONLY racists alive.
BTW I would rather see a Black man be President by a narrow margin over a woman. BUT I’d vote for Palin before Obama because of several “beliefs” Obama and Palin share with me. Obama does not fit ANY of my beliefs at all.

so i just have a question that has pestered me for years

do you vote for or against a presidential candidate on the basis of her/his stance on abortion? or on “gay marriage”?

for years i have maintained that stumping on an extremely emotional issue such as abortion or gay marriage, in any political contest, is a ruse to push an agenda, to garner support from the less educated, to cover-up, to sneak in a pet program; it’s’ dishonest just like the flim-flam-man.

if i remember correctly, it was a republican ruse to make it a platform issue, when it should not be a presidential platform issue at all - it clearly sucked in the knee-jerk-fundamental-right.

and well, it got bush elected - um - along with some other things like the debacle in florida where um … his bro was wielding the bush money and the - uh - voting machines were - uh - mal … func….tion….eeeng, and some were hoping that no-one noticed.

fascinating that the pubs used abortion as a club and the dems just presented it as a viable possibility

    it’s moot dudes - get a life

mtt, can you distinguish between what you know and what you believe? Is it not possible that what you believe may just possibly not be true? Is it not possible that what others believe that is different from what you believe may be just as possibly true as your belief? Do you really think that you can comprehend the reality of the universe better than anyone else? I might point out that many Christians would take issue with your beliefs. Why is your take on this better than theirs?

  14. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 3 months ago

mytinytown - huh? What “fake” papers on Bush are you talking about?

And guys, OBAMA’S AN AMERICAN. Get over it. Hawaii’s Republican governor has said he was born in Hawaii, there is documented proof (his birth certificate has been digitized, and it’s on the Web, for Chrissake, and there were birth announcements on the day in Hawaii newspapers), and even if he wasn’t, he’s still an American citizen because his mother was.
Jeez Louise, fix your tin hats – the Rush Limbaugh mind-control laser satellites are getting through.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been learning about these birther folks and I’ve placed them in the kooky jar where they belong. The recent spate of cartoons with this theme is clearly showing them up for they are (and I’m amused).

We have (at least) two of them right here, among us, on this very forum?

    nomad2112 said, 3 months ago

BCS you’re right we should work really hard at converting this nation to “third world” status. Once we are all hopelessly entrenched in the level of survival of the fittest then everything will be fair.

  25. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 3 months ago

nomad, you’re right … we should all support the status quo … taxpayers should keep funding gifts to corporations so the middle class can continue to decline

and the wealthy and influential should definitely continue to live in a higher strata than the rest of us

and power in D.C. should continue to be held by political and family dynasties who reward their loyal friends with taxpayer money

and we should definitely continue our practice of believing all men and women are not created equal by allowing the wealthy and influential members of the oligarchy to enter the race mere yards from the finish line

    right …

“mtt, can you distinguish between what you know and what you believe?”
Never said anything I said was fact.

“Is it not possible that what you believe may just possibly not be true?”
    Very possible.

“Is it not possible that what others believe that is different from what you believe may be just as possibly true as your belief?”
    Of course.

“Do you really think that you can comprehend the reality of the universe better than anyone else?”
I know little about the “universe” just like everyone else.

“I might point out that many Christians would take issue with your beliefs. Why is your take on this better than theirs?”
What points of mine would other Christians take issue with?
I never claimed anything I said as fact. I just see what I see and call things how I see them. This is amazingly MY opinion.

Insults with no content are far better too. You do a great injustice for your side. But it is MY opinion that the party on the left is a bunch of loons that can not think for themselves anyway. Only can do what their party tells them. Someone here called birthers zombies, you were addressing the wrong party there buddy.

    Disclaimer:
I put my opinion so I can clear the air for those like fennec who must think that all I say I feel is actual fact. Usually if I state something as truth it would be more obvious.

You stated you were a Christian, then pondered if you should vote for a candidate on his stance on abortion and gay marriage.
I have a few questions for you.

    1. Have you ever read the bible?

    2. Do you attend a church that took out a bible and marked out everything they did not like and only left the love, grace and feel good stuff intact?

I do not attend on being sarcastic I just think your questions would be similar to this.

I have been a Catholic my whole life. Should I go get an abortion?

By the way the voting machines were old and were already in FL when Bush’s brother was the governor. After the election, Bush and the republicans put millions of dollars toward updating the voting machines.

Their has been some comments on racism. For some reason they always want to put it on the male Caucasian. I agree there is some racism out their on their behalf.
But there is just as much or more on the African American side.

If you are Caucasian just walk down Marin Luther King Blvd in a major city.

If you are African American walk down the streets in a small town.

I would recommend this during the day for both.
