Congrats! It’s been a long slog, but equality for all is now more attainable. Finally.

Yep. A few ugly, expensive law suits should be all it takes to get all the way home.

A step in the right direction, though.

Well, at least the federal government will now have to recognize same sex marriages from the states where they are legal as far as federal tax laws are concerned, including the ability to file a joint return, be able to mark “Married” on federal income tax forms, and inheritance taxes will now be equal for surviving spouses in a same- sex relationship.
NO ONE will be forced into a Gay Marriage.
NO state will be forced to make same-sex marriage legal if it isn’t voted in.
If you are a straight person, it will have NO effect on you.
If you are a straight married couple, it will have NO effect on you.
If you are a single gay person, it will have NO effect on you.
Contrary to the lies the fear-mongers in the “Christian Right” are spewing!

Of course, you do realize that marking “Married” on a federal joint tax return will cause you to pay more in taxes than two individuals living together and filing separate returns.

    “What does “married” really mean?”
    .
It’s ironic that gays want to marry at the time that the marriage rate in the U.S. has reached an all-time low.
