A nominated finalist for the Pulitzer 6 times since 1999, Chattanooga Times Free Press cartoonist Clay Bennett won the Prize in 2002. He has also earned just about every other editorial cartoon award there is, including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the John Fischetti Editorial Cartoon Competition, the Overseas Press Club's Thomas Nast Award, the National Headliner Award, the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi Award, the National Journalism Award from the Scripps Howard Foundation, and the National Cartoonists Society Division Award for Best Editorial Cartoons. Bennett was also named Editorial Cartoonist of the Year by Editor & Publisher magazine in 2001.

At some point attempted bipartisanship, always rejected, makes you look like you’re naive. At some point one must accept reality. What I would like to see is Boehner, Cantor, McConnell to make one, just one, step of their own towards compromise, discussion, efficiency, an effective government FOR THE PEOPLE. After this first step I am absolutely certain the President would find ways to reward this step by steps of his own. But the onus of outreach is on the GOP right now, the Dems have done enough and been treated badly. Just my 2ct…

I’m amazed you could stomach it long enough to watch. Like the average tinpot dictator, Dear Leader’s jug ears are shown around the clock by his faithful media servants. You can’t get away from him. Even though he’s always on the air, NO hard questions about policy are ever asked. If any ‘journalist’ goes off-script the others pounce on him. It’s disgraceful.
