It’s sad when some little jerk in charge of a psychotic country can call the tune here.
I do understand the reason the theaters chickened out. We’ve already seen what one armed man can do in a movie theater.

NIce take, but with Ebola and all the other “threats”, too many of the American populace are in the same boat, and that includes chickenhawks in Congress.

Hey, corporations are people, my friend.

And these corporations/people are the ones Republicans want to put in charge.

And all the Fox “news” viewers, who all revere ChickenHawks, are in complete agreement.

’Cause, you know, they want the constitution defended.

And the funniest thing of all is that the original script was about a plot to kill some other (fictional, i think) dictator, and it was the brass at Sony who insisted it be Kim Jong Un…

Look, guys. You are a nation of THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE. Even 9/11 just killed less than 0.0001% of your population. What can NK actually do to you? Launch a nuke? If they can do that they don’t need a movie as an excuse.

    -

What they can make you do is cower in a corner, too afraid to speak up, too afraid to think, too afraid to act. “The only thing we have to fear is Fear itself”. The U.S. president saying that had to fight a TWO FRONT WAR against the two most fearsome nations on the planet FROM A WHEELCHAIR! AND HE WON!!!

    -

Where is that spirit gone? I read the theaters and chains and Sony were told by their lawyers not to risk it. Well, then: “First, let’s kill all the lawyers!”. Another American proverb…

Call me cynical, but in the age of “All publicity is good publicity”, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony pulled out just for the extra hype.

I find it interesting that you keep repeating this red herring argument to blame Republicans for the actions of liberal Hollywood.
