I disagree with the ‘toon. The faithful followers of “Greed before ALL else!” have no issue looking at themselves. In fact they are full of themselves. The part where their job is all about denying others…that’s accurate

Just remember…the ones who have to make the denials and cancellations aren’t the ones who set the policies. They just have to enact them, and find a way to live with themselves. Yeah, it might be the ‘I was just following orders’ defense, but it is part of the story.

one stamp says Denied, another says Cancelled, what does the third one say? anybody?

BCS: that one says “Rejected”.
The cartoon is missing a stamp that says “Recission”. That’s where your employer-paid insurance company drops your policy because they feel like it. Usually, because you have an expensive health condition. Anti-reformers who’ll fight to the death for their current insurers don’t realize they could get left high and dry at the sight of a dollar sign.

^ thanks copper, there are many things the anti-reformers don’t realize, including recision. One thing sorely lacking in this national “debate” (though it often seems more like slinging mud fest) is some real journalism on healthcare issues, including private insurers’ practices.

The reason why most Ins companies deny services is the paper work is not filed correctly. This has happened to me. I tok bil and letter form my Ins Provider to Dr. They wrote letter, refiled, and claim was paid.
Oh, if you step outside the network, the portion you pay will be increased and the Ins Company will deny the service. This is what is not being told.
