True. But maybe also we should remember that other societies are just as complex (if not more so) than ours and our judgment may not be all that correct.

“Dewey Wins”?

Our best stance is to stay out of this. If you pray, pray for a peaceful and just resolution. As others have said, it’s a complex situation which is best handled by the Iranian people. If we stick our noses in now, it’ll just look as if we are trying to impose our will.

I think the only way to get involved to is help with their media coverage…
Who know “twittering” could be such a plus?

Spot on cdward. As a matter of fact, the Iranians are ALREADY claiming American interference in their election.

Problem is, it probably is. America and the CIA overthrew the legitimate governments of Iran in 1953, Afghanistan in 2001, and Iraq in 2003 (VERY active in that part of the world). Bush has named Iran as part of the “Axis of Evil” and accused them of “sponsoring terrorism.” The removal of the Ahmajinedad government would greatly benefit American industry. Iran has oil. With that lead-up, can anyone DOUBT that American is covertly in there?

In this instance I think Obama is wise to stay out of this one.

HerrDoxtor, Iran’s oil goes into the world market just like everybody elses’. We get as much as anyone else. .

old-legs-dad, that’s why the CIA is in there. We want MORE, MORE, MORE!
