motive, i think I should re-read Dante’s work now, I’d probably get much more out of it now than I did when I was in college :oD

madhoff? second circle?
that’s to warm for him.
couldn’t he be down there in the ice in the 9th circle with the rest of the “betrayers”? or in with the thieves?
Id personally love to see him amongst the “sowers of discord” as i think that would be just the worst, but the thieves would be probably more fitting.
either way, the 2nd circle is way too easy for this cat.

bcs - probably. You’d appreciate the jokes more. Barring that, I strongly recommend Niven & Pournelle’s modern (1977) riff, Inferno, where a science fiction writer dies and winds up being guided through H3ll, trying to deal with it as a modern rationalist. They just published (this month) a sequel to it that was remarkably good fun and extremely thought-provoking, which is why this was on my mind.

redhead - Minos would just be judging him. I suspect the burning pitch might be his final location…

Madoff needs a new lawyer. How about John Edwards? He’ll root out a sympathetic judge.

Uhhh, would you be very upset if I told you that this is GoComics page, and not the ‘Go-ANandy-you-clever-devil-you’ page?
Really, HOW many cartoons does this make you’ve responded to with completely irrelevant swipes at this or that Dem? Everyone does that sort of thing once in a while, myself included, but you seem to be making a career out of it.
Heck, you even took a shot at Obama in a Wizard of Id thread.
Give it a rest already!

ANandy responds: No, I’m not upset at all.

Good, ANandy…then maybe you’ll start remembering that this website ain’t all about YOU.
Meanwhile…the hits just keep on coming. ANOTHER financial wiz just got busted in a billion dollar fraud scheme.

Woody Guthrie said “some men rob you with a six gun and some with a fountain pen”. The ones with fountain pens can do way more damage.

ANandy replies: Fraud is a crime, as is perjury. Remember Slick Willy? But not to worry, BO will bail them out.

he could go there BUT…
the 5th bolgia of the 8th ring is reserved for corrupt politicians and bernie couldnt steal enough money doing that…hard to imagine…the pitch is too good for him.
so…
i would put him in the 7th bolgia of the 8th circle…
Bolgia 7: Thieves, guarded by the centaur (as Dante describes him) Cacus, are pursued and bitten by snakes and lizards. The snake bites make them undergo various transformations, with some resurrected after being turned to ashes, some mutating into new creatures, and still others exchanging natures with the reptiles, becoming lizards themselves that chase the other thieves in turn. Just as the thieves stole other people’s substance in life, and because thievery is reptilian in its secrecy, the thieves’ substance is eaten away by reptiles and their bodies are constantly stolen by other thieves. (Cantos XXIV and XXV)
i personally could see him even being in any of the 1st 3 rounds of the 9th circle as im sure he betrayed family, country and benefactors…

Okay…so you’re not remembering.
I pity you, I really do.

ANandy responds: I’ll remember all worth remembering, if you don’t mind. And save your pity for the generations to come who have to pay for all this pork.

No, I DO pity you ANandy…this isn’t about future generations; Republicans don’t care about that…or they never would have voted Bush back into office, Nor would they have voted in a whole slew of Repub congressmen and senators that basically rubberstamped HIS spendthrift agenda.
Honestly do you really think inserting ‘clever’ little anti-Dem / anti Obama comments into one cartoon after another is going to win you one single convert to your way of thinking? Especially when the toon in question has NOTHING to do with your rant?
Sorry, but all that really does is make you look like someone desperate for attention.
No…you’re not remembering
But us ‘durty libs’ are laughing
Derisively.
