From 1987 to 1990, he published an award-winning daily comic feature called "Art Gallery" for the Purdue Exponent student newspaper, while studying aeronautical engineering. Taken by his success, he switched majors to graphic arts then decided to transfer to the California Institute of the Arts to study animation. While in Los Angeles, O'Hare took up storyboarding and worked on Ralph Bakshi's "Cool World" and Joe Murray's "Rocko's Modern Life" as well as several other Nickelodeon cartoon shows.
Mark O'Hare is presently a freelance storyboard artist and writer for various animated television series. Mark does not presently own a dog but remembers entertaining a stray for three long months when he was seven.
"Citizen Dog" was launched in May of 1995. O'Hare currently has three "Citizen Dog" collections in print.
