Good morning, CDers!
“We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore. According to the AP, the famous frock that Judy Garland wore in “The Wizard of Oz” just sold for $480,000 at a recent auction."
“The blue gingham dress yielded the highest price of any item during a two-day Hollywood memorabilia auction. There were other Hollywood props for sale, including Julie Andrews’s “Sound of Music” dress, which fetched $38,400, and Marilyn Monroe’s purple skirt from “River of No Return” was sold for $50,000."
“Dorothy’s other famous possession, The Ruby Slippers, went up for auction in 2011. “The Holy Grail of celebrity props” was sold for a dizzying $2 million."
(text:Moviefone.com and AP)
( @nighthawks : Did you have anything in the auction?)

Great moving-day pictures yesterday! Thank goodness we had the van….my balancing skills would have been sorely tested with all that stuff on a bicycle!

@Dry
I certainly won’t miss Hostess. I never bought their producfts. Back when I was in Junior High, when the majority of students were still of an appropriate weight, the one fat student always had Hostess desserts in his lunch box.

I have had Twinkies I think, but I never went out of my way to buy them, cleo. I do buy Wonder Bread once in a while.
