Hey, Stel ol’ Bel, Didja know that that painting (A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte) was created by George Seurat using what is now known as ‘pointillism" (dots – millions of colored dots instead of paint strokes)
It took him two years to finish it. It now is displayed in the Chicago Museum of Art .
The painting had a bit part in ’Ferris Buller’s Day Off" in the eighties

of course, you’re running the risk of the ire of commenters like the one a couple weeks ago (when we were posting paintings) “what is this, a comics comment section or an art gallery?”
that comment implied that it can’t be both, and most certainly posting paintings should not be done in this, the holy of holies, a comic-comments blog

That’s why I chose it for today. Thank you, kind sir, for the additional info. I remembered the technique and the first half of the title and the artist, but for the life of me, could not remember the rest, and didn’t have a chance yet today to search it out.

G’mornin’! (@11:58am) I never even noticed the change in Lin Gee Whiz’s name! I’ll make note of that!
