    Should’ve had a sundial instead of the clock, Boys.

    At first I thought 11 o’clock because the clock is not roman numerals. I knew where it was all headed anyway.

    The guy in the toga is the lion’s meal.

    @ Frank: We see “1” “1” on a clock and think eleven. In Rome, “1” “1” is two. Before 11 o’clock, he is standing there. After 11 o’clock, only his sandals are there. Feeding time at the lions meant visitors became a meal.

    Did he correct that clock or am I hallucinating?

    @J. Short

    The guard can see the sundial, and moves the clocks hands manually to II oclock. The spectator thought feeding time was eleven oclock, or there is no joke.
