Humor can be found in just about every nook and cranny - down dark alleys, deep in space, far out to sea and hidden under grates. These are just a few of the myriad settings which serve as a backdrop for our zany cartoon, Chuckle Bros.
From early civilization through the present and on into the distant future, the world of Chuckle Bros is actually the same crazy world we all inhabit - it's just missing the normal set of checks and balances that keep each and every one of us just inside the ropes on our path through life.
In a world that's often all too serious, we welcome you to see it through the eyes of Chuckle Bros - a laugh-a-day, every day.

This joke and the one on Argyle Sweater are two the oldest cartoon jokes that have been done about a million times before. As cartoonists how cold you NOT know that???

The Thesaurus was known by many other names.

It’s soap box time for Dan. Go write a poop joke. You’re good at that

I’ve spent the last year (plus) indexing my comics archive
The cartoons are filed by subject and I’ve been finding it quite amusing to see how many variants there can be to the same theme
As long as one cartoon is not a direct rip off of another, I really don’t see anything wrong with multiple creators having essentially the same idea
Not every comic can be LOL funny and I can imagine when the deadline monster looms even a recycled lame gag is better than none at all

Hooray for silly old jokes! And any silly new ones that come along….or is that even possible? Two, three, half a million great minds think alike.

@Doctor Toon
uh, would that ever-approaching monster be the dreaded deadlineosaurus?

You guys are making cracks about deadlines, but I think Ron could have drawn 4 regular strips in the time it took to trace that stegosaurus out of a book.

Neither do I, but this is not a variation on a theme. This is the same cartoon. It IS the same cartoon. I’m not saying this cartoonist copied it, or ripped it off, or whatever. I’m just saying this joke has been done since the Jurassic era. Now, maybe, if this old gag was a parody on itself, it might work better. Say, Drawing a TheSAURUS as a dinosaur, an ANTomyn as an insect, etc. SOMETHING that didn’t have as the joke just a THESAURUS as a dinosaur. Or maybe, if, say, the cartoon was about a caveman who was the FIRST cartoon, drawing the FIRST cartoon and he was drawing this cartoon on a cave wall…that might work, and it would also be a comment on the antiquity of this cartoon. That would be funny in that it would make fun of the ridiculousness how old this joke is.
Just trying to help here.
It might just be that I’ve been doing cartoons a long time and I’ve seen this cartoon done since the beginning of time. It’s hard to understand how a cartoonist would not be aware of this.

His cartoon was similar but it was different. It made me laugh and that is all that counts. I saved it in my personal collection.
