So, Republican senators who vote based on their own beliefs or along the lines of their constituency’s wishes as opposed to a hard party line are liberals? I guess if Denis Kucinich were to vote against a Democrat’s bill he would suddenly be a Tea Partier, then?
We keep reelecting Senator Collins up here because she’s not liberal and she doesn’t follow party lines that would hurt our state. We elected Senator King because he doesn’t belong to either party. He is disliked by the Democrats because he believes free market will, fix the economy, and by the Republicans because he knows healthcare and welfare are important safety nets. Start electing Senators and Representatives with their own minds, not the ones who can get the most donations, and we can fix this country.

Next to Obama’s teleprompter. The water bottle is more useful.

(The Borowitz Report)—Authorities who have spent the past forty-eight hours combing CNN in the hopes of finding any information whatsoever have called off their search, they confirmed today.

    -
“After monitoring every minute of CNN’s broadcast since Monday, we have found hearsay, rumors, falsehoods, and a steady stream of inane commentary,” one authority said. “Everything but information.”
    -
The announcement was the second black eye today for CNN, which earlier in the afternoon recanted all of its reporting dating back to mid-2009.
    -
Newly installed CNN chief Jeff Zucker acknowledged that the network had experienced “a rough patch” since he took over earlier this year, but added, “At least no one was watching.”

Ideological purity and the purging of anyone who doesn’t goose-step to the party line will be the ruin of the Republican party. Alternatively the Tea Party/Religious Right will splinter into a third party and will distill its purity to the point that only three people will be allowed to join. It would be fun to watch if it weren’t for the damage done to the country while no one does anything.

The country is not doomed, the repubs are making themselves so unpleasant that no one will vote for them, and thereby the country will be saved.

So, Asay thinks any compromise makes a Republican an idiot? I won’t disagree, but the Tea Party doesn’t allow smart kids either.

As long as we have the Filibuster, the 40% minority and the Gerrymander, it only takes a few to prevent any progress.

El Señor Marco Rubio is right. El noto que “He noted that at least 40 percent of an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the country came on legal visas but then overstayed.” It takes a right wing Cuban to understand how many of us got here. Me da risa how the right wingers are calling him a useful idiot.
