Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
If we let it….

I guess the sooner this case gets to the Supreme Court, the sooner we can move on to the next religious convictions vs. political convictions fight. Mr. Asay is such a good artist. I guess his tone appeals to his newspapers’ readers. I don’t blame the artist as much as the readers who help set the tone on this tragic debate.
sadly,

“When men fight with one another and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity." -Deuteronomy 25:11–12

Says the speaker whose avatar is from a deranged mass murderer with an obsessive love for an even bigger mass homicidal manic. Of course, if the conservatives had their way, we would simply submit ourselves to a free market indentured servitude with decreasing wages, escalating prices on basic services, while the banking system continued to sell toxic mortgage products, which they collapse will take the entire world’s economy with them. Oh wait……….!?!?!
When did you speak out before?

A womans right to choose trumps any and all religious beliefs.
We should have universal healthcare like other countries have including access to contraceptives for everybody who is sexually active and abortion where necessary.

@Clark Kent
So your religious beliefs trump everyone else? Hope you’re not in charge of anything important.

It bears repeating: You try to be so open-minded that your brain falls out.

And it’s a woman’s right to pay for her own birth control pre-coitus just like men have to. Post-coitus it’s murder.

OK yes, A woman’s right to choose….yada yada yada. I agree. Each individual has the “right” to “choose”. If a woman gets pregnant and wants to “abort” that child it is her “right” to make that decision.
Who pays the bill? The doctor ain’t gonna work for free…..yet.
OK great, we no longer have to go to a doctor, we can “play all night” and then just take a pill in the AM. EZ-PEEZY.
Who pays for the pill?
Horrors, it may cost from 10-50 bucks IF you are over 18 and thus of “majority” and able to make your own health care decisions.
Different for a minor child.

OH, I know. Let’s just force a person who has a life-long deep religious conviction against abortion to pay for it. Yeah, THAT’S fair, and we are ALL about being fair.
