Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

Freedom for women to decide for themselves. Freedom from dying in back-alley abortions.

How many scientist, engineer, writers, and artists have been lost to america in these past 40 years.

Long before Roe vs Wade the conservatives hated Planned Parenthood. They couldn’t stand the thought that a woman could have some control over how many kids she had. Not to mention that there was someplace where she could get good health care even if she was poor or abandoned by her husband.

If it’s a ‘free’ society, and we’ve earned our ‘liberty,’ and we’ve fought and sent our brothers to die ‘protecting’ that liberty, Chuck, the menfolk gotta stop trying to dictate what the womenfolk do. Buck up. You can’t control every blessed choice another person makes.

And federally subsidized to boot!

He Becca, I guess since a woman chooses to get pregnant she should be allowed to determine if that baby is murdered or not?
nemo5012 said, 5 months ago
@Zipi
So what you’re saying is that a woman who becomes pregnant from a rape chooses to become pregnant ?
HabaneroBuck said, 5 months ago
Red herring. Abortions due to “rape and incest” are less than 1% of the total number of abortions. Therefore, 99% of abortions are because of the convenience factor. Google abortions due to rape new york times.

So you would be against IUDs as birth control? Oh wait, let me guess, you are against birth control period. Why is it conservatives are only about freedom for themselves?

People like chuck are all so concerned about a “kid” before it’s born (Also notice “it” is born!) but after, just try and get schools, health care or decent employment in their budgets. hell, no, not enough money in the world to give to the Koch Brothers.

Pro-choice people do not accept the equation that fetus = baby. Ultimately this all comes down to the question of “At what point do we have a legal/moral human?” Unfortunately there is no way of definitively answering this question.

According to republicans once you are born you don’t matter except to fill up privitized prisons and fight endless wars.
Zygotes, on the other hand are people, and deserve assualt weapons.

Excellent comparison, given the far greater number of mass murderers than scientists, etc.

Why is it conservatives are only about freedom for themselves?
I would ask you the same question (insert liberals in place of conservatives) as concerning firearms.
And don’t present that weak argument about “need”.
