Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

Israel: “Dear Hamas, We did not order the rockets you are sending us. Since your shipments are being destroyed on delivery, we are returning to you some of ours which are of a much better quality.”

Three fatalities on the Israeli side, hundreds on the Gaza side, again, just like in Lebanon, Syria, West Bank, and on, and on.
Israel has “Iron Dome” and is moving their kids out of the range of Hamas rockets. What do Gazans have for defense, and where can they go to escape continued attack from far more sophisticated weapons???

Gaza’s best defense is to not go on offense.

Seriously, your defense of Hamas is, “well they are incompetent at making war so it does not count”

There is no more dangerous enemy that the man who has nothing to lose.
.
Israel makes sure that Palestinians have nothing to lose.
.
In a less related point, Israel has been spoiling for a fight all summer “Early parliamentary elections will be held in Israel on 22 January 2013 to elect the 19th Knesset”.
.
Ask yourself, if this was the USA, would you at least wonder if there wasn’t some political gainsmenship going on?
.
Netanyahu has been rattling his sabre in a very volitile region at an especially delicate time. To then turn around and claim victimhood raises questions in MY mind.

I don’t know what I would do if I was a 3rd party mediator trying to find a peaceful solution. I see both sides as being guilty, but for different reasons. The Palestinians are not unified and one faction or another will not honor a truce, so Israel understandably gave up on negotiating peace. On the other side, Israel has created such harsh living conditions for the Palestinians that they can’t just sit back and take it. So the hate and hostility will persist.

“…. What do Gazans have for defense…” When the airstrikes began, Hamas evacuated all of its Security buildings. The terrorist went into bunkers and locked the door against the civilians. Hamas has been launching 1,000 rockets from hospitals, school playgrounds and homes. These cowards are using women’s skirts to hid behind. The Gazans gave power to Hamas, now they are paying the price.

Where can they go, indeed? Hamas will just follow them and set up the missiles outside their new place. When you use civilians as a shield, you can’t complain about casualties. Hamas and Hezbollah are cowards.

And how have their Arab “brothers” helped them? There is no place for them in any Arab country, so why does your outrage not extend to the Arab leaders?

Don’t know who bring your news, but its Israel who hasn’t replied to the peace offering in this case.

Hey dtroutma – maybe the first things the ‘Gazans’ could try would be to NOT shoot rockets into Israel?
Ya think?
Israel has so far – only shot back when first shot at.
To quote “J” – if you don’t start nothing there won’t be nothin’.
Course, that’s just crazy talk – the Palestinians cannot control themselves, they just ‘need’ to kill civilians, as long as they’re infidels.

So are you sad about the 3 fatalities or hundreds on the other side?

Another ‘war’ between Israel and Palestine? Yawn…
