Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

Only an anti-intellectual culture filled with sheople could ever even PRETEND to accept such obvious logical fallacies as “–jobs saved or created” in connection with massive debt piled onto future workers…

At the same time; where is the Republican solution? Who do we sell out to after the Chinese? The Republicans have jeopardized the sovereignty of my nation…They’ll have to come up with a better covenant of promises than the “Contract For America”. What is the odds of that?

“Sheeple”, or variants thereof:
If I could punch a word in the face, I would do it to this one. I would punch it so hard.

Toaster: you’re starting to get a tiny taste of how I feel about terms like “gay marriage”… :/
PS come to grips with the same shocking truth I did: that Jesus did not refer to people as “sheep” in order to FLATTER them…
I am very thankful he is the Good Shepherd, though.

Funny I always thought Obama’s guys where pulling it out of the other end.
Just remember if we pass this great money give away, right now, before we read it, unemployment will not go above 8%. This from our great community organizer in chief who has never run a for profit lemonade stand. How is that turning turning hope and change snake oil into jobs going?

Today’s unemployment announcement, reflecting the result of Bush economics, are the highest since ‘83, hmm, as we were getting into the joys of Reaganomics, and just before they changed the analysis to “employ” people on paper.(like including the military for the first time as “employed”)

One of the great(?) Democratic talking points during the 2004 and 2006 election cycle was “we were in the worst economy since the Great Depression!” This was while unemployment was under 5%.
If Obama could get the kind of numbers Bush had then, it would be declared the best economy evah!

“Toaster: you’re starting to get a tiny taste of how I feel about terms like “gay marriage.”
Scotty, I feel the same way about the word “gay.” I am old enough to remember that “gay” had other meanings besides “a male homosexual.” Meanings like “happy”, as in “a gay occasion, a gay person.” Or bright as in “a gay color.”
A “gay marriage” used to be the happy occasion leading to the union of a man and a woman. Now it is the celebration of sodomy.
