Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

Ok, forget the “message” of this comic for a moment. I just want to say that I do like Asay’s art here. The third panel is especially nice, resembling some sort of Rube Goldberg contraption gone horribly awry. Quite nice.
You can keep on forgetting the message, by the way. I don’t mind.

as for science… if you don’t make mistakes, you’re doing it wrong. If you don’t recognize and correct mistakes, you’re not doing it at all.

Britain’s worst polluters was used to predict the BBQ summer that never happened. And no kidding Dogger science is a bunch of mistakes but in the same place one after another till you find something that works. That is good science. This guy shows how this guy never stayed to learn from the “mistakes”

Thanks ANandy for the name. So another Czar who has an interesting back ground. One of the guys who gave us the over population numbers back in the 70’s. But hey no worries he testified it was not the governments job to make it happen. Yet now he is that guy. interesting.
Great strip now that I know the context behind it.

So Asay is saying that science eventually got it right, and somehow this is a problem?

Got what right Doc? A guy who thinks this place would be over populated and everyone would be starving? Or A guy who worked with government grants with the out put pre determined CO2 bad and the Earth warming and cooling has nothing to do with the sun?
And as I have pointed out ASAY shows him moving on after he was proven wrong and not sticking it out till it was right.

Yes, Thanks ANandy for giving us the name. Bad for Chuck Assay that he needs people to explain his joke for him. I thought he was just saying everyone at the EPA are a bunch of idiots.

What is funny (science deptartment???) is that most democrats lock in step with Pres Obama don’t even know that he has assembled 32 Czars to work under the radar and advise him. Most presidents have not had more than 1 or 2. There is very little reporting of this by the MSM or the backgrounds of these people. Who is paying their salaries? What are their salaries? Who is vetting them? Are they held accountable by Congress? How do they work with official cabinet members who are held accountable to Congress? What do they work on? Most important of all: What is going on behind the scenes of this administration? Was Obama that unprepared for the job that he has to have all these people filling him in on the issues or is he trying to circumvent the constitution to deliver “change”?

Back in the USSR you don’t know happy you are.
Speaking of the USSR take a look at their record on protecting mother earth. Seems to me the capitalistic way is far less damaging then the soviets government makes right way of doing things.

Asay once again communes with his intellectual equals, nematodes.
fennec said, 2 months ago
dtroutma, I think you’re insulting nematodes. After all, if I remember correctly, SOME of them are free-living (non-parasitic).

Scientists should work on a revolutionary new fiber to make into a suit that protects their thin skin…
The czarships look like a way to employ his Perfesser-Buddies who aren’t qualified for anything otherwise… Perhaps David Brooks is right…the Dems are headed lock step into committing Party-Suicide. 32 of the communist elite intelligentsia busy destroying any chance the Democrat Party has of appealing to the mid-stream electorate.

What an idiot. ASSay doesn’t have the brains to pass jr high school biology, so he’ll just deny science has any legitimacy.

I think he is pointing out what might be behind the motivations of some career bureaucrats and some of that “hard” science we’ve been getting lately.

FOXGLOVE16: Do you know Asay personally? Are you qualified to evaluate his mental condition? Do you spend all your time looking at cartoons? I should like to quote your favourite President…..”well, there you go again”
