^ how about 10 % of Gitmo released terrorist are already back killing Americans and aliies around the world?

Back, Machado? Or maybe newly recruited by their experiences in Gitmo…honestly, if I had been treated like that, I’d want revenge big time.

Let’s say it’s true that these “terrroists” were released and are back killing Americans. Why did we release them without a trial?

While we’re on the subject of Gitmo, why isn’t OBL there?

Again I ask, how many terrorists are in Gitmo and can anyone back up the numbers?

Solution, Kill’m all? Release them all, where? Put them on a ship to no where? I know. Re-settle them with welfare checks in Obama’s home town.

Bush was Osama’s wet dream. He seemed to go and do everything Osama wanted to help boost his cause.

Gitmo is a disaster and needs to go away. I have no doubt there are many there who need to be imprisoned, but we must do it legally or its pointless and just feeds the beast even more.

I’m distressed by all the anti-Gitmo retoric, beyond that Bush had the gumption to deal with enemy troops trying to kill U.S. troops under the Military Detentions Act. If there is an issue here, it should be with Congress under the enumerated powers of Article 1.

All countries maintain POW camps since warriors chose to stop plunging a spear through the necks of the enemy they encountered on the battlefield.
The “torture” we inflict amounts to no more that extreme discomfort to encourage those to reveal information, which may provide us an advantage. The traitors who repeat that canard that enhanced interrogation techniques don’t result in valuable intelligence are deceiving themselves and reveal their true intent, hate the U.S.

Like the “extreme discomfort” that we prosecuted the Japanese for? Talk about being politically correct…

As for “enemy troops” being in Gitmo, why are they set free without trial?

I’m still waiting for an answer to these questions. But I probably won’t get an answer. I never do.

danielsangeo: Your poison pen reveals your anti U.S. bias. Stay on point, don’t change the subject. On what basis will a trial be held? Violation of U.S. law? These are prisoners of war held outside the U.S. and have no standing under U.S. law. Ones who have been tried were for criminal violations against humanity, international law. Unfortunately prisoners were released, only to be recaptured on the battlefield at the cost of U.S. lives. B.O. can’t grasp this concept. He has all ready reneged on many “promises” he made just to be elected. If only closing Gitmo were one of them.

    Nope, not anti-US bias.

And I don’t have anything further to say to you.

Why is it that anyone who objects to Gitmo, waterboarding, warrantless wiretapping, ‘enhanced interrogation’, rendition, etc ‘hates the US’? Some believe that these practices betray the ideals and principles the country was founded upon. Did Franklin say ‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’ ? Pretty good quote, whoever said it. I doubt it was Prez Bush, Dick Cheney, Al Gonzalez, Don Rumsfeld, Jack Bauer or ANandy.

I’m also reminded of the “quote” from Stephen Colbert:

“Live free or do anything you can so I don’t die!”
