Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

It’s honest & true, but not funny!

This amazing country has never been a true free market capitalist system and has never been a full publicly organized socialist system. We have always been an ever changing blend of the two systems. Depending on the status of the natural ebbs and flows of the business and political cycles, we have leaned more to one side versus the other in varying degrees.
So…let’s end the false debate of choosing capitalism or socialism as if we are selecting our favorite ice cream. What we are discussing is how do we find the most healthy balance at this moment in history.
When the Titanic was sinking, we didn’t let the survivors drown in the icy water. We saved who we could and once the crisis passed, we looked at boat design and nautical procedures to avoid the repeating the mistakes.
As Linda Ellerby said, “Experience is our ability to recognize a mistake the second time we’ve made it.”
By the way…if you Republicans want to discuss ending ALL corporate subsidies…then maybe…maybe we can talk about an end to “American Socialism”. But until then…let’s have an honest debate.
