Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

GOP brains like Noonan, Brooks, Will and others knew Sarah Palin wouldn’t ( and couldn’t ) be elected…

Letting the “rubes” into the tent is one thing, letting them become the ringmasters quite another … something the likes of Will, Brooks and Noonan comprehend and the likes of Asay apparently can’t.

No, there have always been two tents, and the duct tape Nixon used to hold them together has been fraying for a long time, as evidenced by the fact that the Republican party LOST THE POPULAR VOTE IN FOUR OUT OF THE LAST FIVE ELECTIONS!!!
Do you really think that the William F. Buckley wing of the party ever thought of the Racist In The Name of Jesus wing as anything other than rubes who were easy to persuade to vote against their own best interests? Ironically, the Southern Strategy voters proved more dependable than the Top 1% voters, as the only areas that voted in greater percentages Republican in 2008 compared to 2004 were the Appalachians, the Ozarks, and the home states of McCain and Palin. Apart from there, the ENTIRE COUNTRY shifted to the left over those four years, except in the Confederacy. You should be proud.

Are we supposed to see this comic and think that this just happened?
I’m pretty sure the “tent” size has been getting smaller for most of the last 20 years.
Is it that Mr Asay is just figuring that out?

Wait a minute, George Will doesn’t really belong on that list. He hardly qualifies as a neocon or a McCain admirer.

Dale – you forgot SHOULDN’T in your list.

You’ve all got it backwards. The Republicans generally do worst when they run their misnamed
“moderates,” dimwits with little to say like Gerald Ford, the two Bushes, Bob Dole, and John McCain.
Oh yes, add Sarah Palin, too, for she’s just another neocon. Once again, George Will doesn’t belong in that crowd.

I’m a lifelong Democrat but I must say Sarah Palin pitches my tent.

JK - The problem is the country has done it’s worst with the present extremist.
