    Talk about the pot and the frippin’ kettle! It’s the GOP and their incessant “Drill, drill, drill” mantra that’s pie in the sky. Won’t change energy prices for years, but it will keep us in hock to the Saudis and make W’s friends rich. I love you CHuck. You’re a perfect reverse barometer of reality.

    Chuck seems unable to get the idea that fossil fuels are going to be extinct in few decades.

    Having the Mudcain platform relying ONLY in Drillin’ is condemning us to live in another dark ages…

    but that idea is to hard to be grasped by Stew, Mach and all the GOP-lovers…

    Wow. These oil companies can funnel the countries resources into their share holders bank accounts in unprecedented quantities until the world economies sink into a recession and the global climate crisis becomes even more difficult to address and there will still be people like Chuck, Orielly, and investors who will actually defend their approach to energy policy. Think about what would have to happen in order for this guy to consider looking for alternatives to oil? I like to “protect ideas” which I think are worthwhile just like Chuck and I think investing in alternative energy is what we should have done eight or ten years ago. If we had done this then, our economy would not be so vulnerable to the cost of oil now.

    StewieZ says:

    “No one has said that drilling to use the resources we have now is the only option.”

    Except Bush, Cheney, McCain and Palin.

    That’s right, keep telling yourself everything is impossible and just do what the corporations tell you to do.

    What kind of “biblical worldview” can Asay claim he has when he denigrates one of St. Paul’s three great Christian principles and instead promotes exploitative oil companies’ greed, political short-sightedness, ultimate economic dependence, and resulting global damage from the increasing use of fossil fuels? What a false prophet! Rod Davis

    ^ Perhaps by helping to accelerate ‘the great tribulation’ by means of a self-fulfilling prophecy?

    Two ladders to hoist up the banner would be sooo much more efficient, but most of the R’s never seem able to discriminate between their own and any old hole in the ground. Does Asay believe that oil is a renewable resource ala Jerome Corsi?

    Maybe some see the democratic patform irrealist because the republicans told them for years;
    “This is our world, we know you think it sucks but don’t you dare try to make it better, it just won’t work”

    Are they afraid we might find out that they lie?

    It’s just like someone who’s being abused by a bully that tells you day after day after day that you’re nothing. After awhile you start to believe the bully (and its culture of fear) so much that you can have a way out that’s as big as america’s deficit and not even reach for it because you don’t believe it. You don’t believe in you, you don’t see it.
