Chuck Asay sifts the events of the day through his biblical worldview and tries to persuade readers to see things his way...that rights are given by a higher authority than the governments of men, that mankind is not the ultimate arbiter of truth and that our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting. Chuck believes ideas, not politicians rule the world. He tries to protect ideas which he thinks are good and attacks ideas he thinks bring harm.

Hello! Many species of fish are on the endangered list. Others species are questionable regarding their ability to survive. Still others have become poisoned by various chemicals and should not be eaten. In some waters the fish have disappeared altogether.
Maybe these conditions are more important!?

There is a certain truth to this. Not only in the government but also with corporations.

It’s time for the people to take back the Dawn as in this Old Fishing Story:
A Wisconsin man was stopped by a Game Warden in northern Wisconsin recently with two ice chests full of live fish in water, leaving a river well known for it’s fishing.
The game warden asked the man,
“Do you have a license to catch those fish?”
“Nah, my friend, I ain’t got no license. These here are my pet fish.”
“Pet fish?”
“Yep. Every night I take these fish down to the river and let ‘em swim around for awhile.
Then I whistle and they jump back into this ice chest and I take ‘em home.”
“That’s a bunch of BS. Fish can’t do that!”
The man looked at the game warden for a moment and said,
“It’s the truth. I’ll show you. It really works.”
“Okay, I’ve GOT to see this.”
The man poured the fish back into the river and waited. After several minutes the warden turned to the man and said,
“Well?”
“Well what?”
“When are you going to call them back?”
“Call who back?”
“The FISH!”
“What fish?”
We in Wisconsin may not be as smart as some, but we’re not at dumb as most.”

Carol’s point is amplified in the last frame, Spewdork. Unless you like the idea of deregulated swilling of thermometer liquid and all that.

Let’s see… the gov’t told us to stop putting lead in gas, water pipes and paint. They take money from us to build roads and schools and defend us from enemies. They may not be perfect but anybody who says there’s no place for gov’t is an idiot.

Build a man a fire and you’ll keep him warm for a few hours. Set a man on fire and you’ll keep him warm for the rest of his life.
